International Walk to School Day, which takes place on the first Wednesday of October every year, is a mass celebration of active transportation.
Since 1999, Active & Safe Routes to School Peterborough has joined millions of children, parents and community leaders from 42 countries around the world by organising a community-wide Walk to School Day here in Peterborough! Last year’s International Walk to School Day celebration was held at Armour Heights, where students and staff were joined by Elmer the Safety Elephant, local Police Officers, Cool Captain Climate and members of the Peterborough Petes for a walk around their community. Check back soon to find out where this year’s event will be held! Announcement will be in early September.
