International Walk to School Day

IWALK_Web_Title

International Walk to School Day, which takes place on the first Wednesday of October every year, is a mass celebration of active transportation.

Since 1999, Active & Safe Routes to School Peterborough has joined millions of children, parents and community leaders from 42 countries around the world by organising a community-wide Walk to School Day here in Peterborough! This year's celebration was held at Monsignor O'Donoghue Catholic School, where students and staff were joined by Elmer the Safety Elephant, local Police Officers, and Cool Captain Climate for a walk around their community.

To have an International Walk to School Day program package sent to your school please contact Maeda Welch at Peterborough Green-Up, (705) 745-3238 ext. 216, or by e-mail at asrts@greenup.on.ca.
